Our Africa approach
Form international is a forest asset manager for clients that own or invest into forest assets in Africa. Our forest asset management model was specifically developed and proven successful for the African context. Currently we have approximately 27,000 hectares under management in Ghana and Tanzania, providing jobs to over 2,000 people. In often challenging environments we place emphasis on locally grounded high quality management, sound financial performance (return on investment), intensive management support systems, transparency and integrity, excellent community and stakeholder relations, positive social and environmental impact and strong local capacity building.
Transforming forest landscapes
We create new and improve existing forest assets and contribute to sustainable forest landscape development for our clients and stakeholders, whether they are investors, governments, communities or non-governmental organisations. Our focus is on the full range of forest landscapes including timber plantations, natural forests, assisted natural regeneration, forest and land reclamation, agroforestry and to some extend agriculture. Landscapes managed by Form should deliver economic, ecological and social return on investment and inspire people to live and work in or around the areas.
Forest asset management comprises the design, preparation, establishment, management and improvement of forest assets. Depending on the client’s needs and specific case Form can take up one or several of these roles. While local management is always situated at the operational sites, our headquarters in The Netherlands provide management support and technical assistance, while ensuring corporate governance. We believe firmly in our interactive model of strong local managers with intensive backstopping from our pool of experts operating from The Netherlands.
