Form signs letter of intent at the National Climate Summit 2016
Let´s bring Paris home!
At the Paris Climate Conference (COP21) in December 2015, 195 countries adopted the first-ever universal, legally binding global climate deal. The agreement sets out a global action plan to put the world on track to avoid dangerous climate change by limiting global warming to well below 2°C. In the field of climate, much is happening in The Netherlands. But more is needed and it should be done faster. Deputy Minister for the Environment Ms Sharon Dijksma: "We need every single measure we can think of to fight global warming." Therefore the National Climate Summit 2016 focussed on concrete actions. One of these actions is the undersignment of a letter of intent, in which 21 parties express their intention to work together to realize 100,000 hectares of new forests in the Netherlands by 2050.
On behalf of Form International, Executive Director Paul Hol attended the National Climate Summit 2016 on Wednesday 26th October in Rotterdam and undersigned the letter of intent.
