The Web Portal is an answer of the European Timber Trade Federation (ETTF) to the numerous questions timber traders have when it comes to legal timber trade, due diligence, country requirements and export. It serves as a central information point, where visitors can find country profiles on both timber industry and legislation of producer countries, mainly located in tropical Africa, Asia and Latin America. Importers must obtain documentary evidence to satisfy the due diligence requirements of the EUTR and various other regulations.
The construction the website has been supported by the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) and European Sustainable Tropical Timber Coalition (EU STTC) and builds upon knowledge gathered and published by several organisations and institutions.
Mr. André de Boer, Secretary General of ETTF: “The Form-team combines their expertise, network abilities and creativity to gather relevant information and get the message across.”
Form international plays a coordinating and implementing role. Form has laid-out a structure for the website, and had it constructed. Based on desk study and expert-input, country profiles are compiled by the Form team, and published on the website after review. Between the end of 2015 and mid 2016 the first selection of 23 country profiles will be published. All published profiles have undergone expert review.
