FORM International has six consultants in permanent service, specialised in a wide range of forestry issues worldwide. Three forestry consultants are Lead Auditors for Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).

MANAGEMENT

Paul Hol

Paul Hol is owner and managing director of FORM International and a senior forestry advisor, specialised in Sustainable Forest Management, forestry investments, reforestation and forest certification. Mr. Hol was involved in setting up the forest certification standards from the beginning. He is mainly involved in project management of sustainable forest management (such as FSC and PEFC) plantation investments and nature conservation.

 

 ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Gijs Breukink

Gijs Breukink studied Tropical forestry and International Timber Trade at Larenstein, Velp where he graduated in 2003. Mr. Breukink is a forestry advisor specialised in the Chain of Custody certification. He also completed courses for auditing for FSC certification and lead auditing for ISO 9001-2000 certification. He has performed studies into different Chain of Custody schemes and has designed a universal system applicable to all schemes. Next to the technical forestry expertise, he is educated in the field of international timber trade, including management, marketing, legislative and corporate economics. Mr. Breukink has international project experience in Cameroon, Indonesia, Ukraine, Sweden and Finland. He has also performed a study in Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine and Russia on the quality standards of sawmills the technology, material supply and labour force.

 

       

CONSULTANTS

Debora van Boven-Flier

Mrs. van Boven studied in Wageningen Tropical Forestry and Sustainable Forest Management from which she graduated, MSc degree, in 2003. Afterwards she performed a FSC feasibility study in Tbilisi, Georgia, as a freelance consultant in combination with a Dutch engineering bureau. When she came back she was hired by FORM, where she carried out projects, varying from conformity assessments to assisting State Forestry Enterprises in Ukraine achieving FSC certification.

 

Rik Sools

Mr. Sools (MSc.) studied Forest and Nature Conservation at Wageningen University, where he graduated in 2007 with a specialization in Forest Ecology and Management. Mr. Sools works on the preparation and implementation of projects related to forest certification, forest management planning, forest restoration, forest valuation and agroforestry. Many of his current activities are concentrated in Ghana. Before joining FORM, Mr. Sools obtained working experience with smallholder forest management in Chile (2005) and Bolivia (2006) and in 2007-2008 he worked in the Natura 2000 project for the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature Conservation and Food Quality, facilitating the public consultation process.

 

Mans Vroom

Mans Vroom studied College for Wood Technology and several Forestry Courses such as Silviculture, Forest Management and Wood Technology.Mr. Vroomhas more than 35 years of experience as a manager in forest management in West- and Central Africa and in South America. He has lived and worked in Ghana for 18 years. He was project leader for Sustainable Forest Management/ Wildlife Management Project in Gabon, as implemented by the Wildlife Conservation Society, Tropical Forest Foundation and the Gabonese Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Mr. Vroom has been providing technical assistance to companies in preparation of Certification in Ukraine, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Gabon, British Guyana, Indonesia, Canada and Sweden. Mr. Vroom is also a qualified auditor for FSC.

 

Tieme Wanders

Mr. Wanders studied at Wageningen University and Research centre, where he graduated in 1997. He holds a MSc on Tropical Forestry with the main subjects: Forest Ecology and Management and Restoration Forestry. From 2000 to 2002 Mr. Wanders was project leader for the RECOFON plantation project in Cameroon. In 2003-2004 Mr. Wanders was team leader of the FORM SARL Cameroon project (development of forest management plans for three forest concessions of a total of 250,000 ha, technical assistance towards certification of SFM). He provided technical assistance for the PSOM FSC certification project in Indonesia (2003-2005). Mr Wanders has experience with various SFM standards and the stakeholder processes that accompany the procedure of setting up a standard. Mr. Wanders is also qualified FSC lead auditor.
