Introduction
In 2007, FORM International sought a partnership with SARVISION, which is one of the leading Remote Sensing companies specialised in RADAR technology (liaised to Wageningen University). The partnership bridges the gap between the scientifically orientated remote sensing community and the practices in the field. The cross-pollination of FORM’s forestry expertise and SARVISION’s expertise in remote sensing and advanced RADAR technology, enables FORM-SARVISION to assess the needs of field practioners and to develop tailored-made products according to these needs.

Cost effective and accurate monitoring
The RADAR technology that is used enables a delivery of robust monitoring products at short notice: Even the most cloudy, remote and large areas in tropical countries can be monitored without periodical constraints. Because of the fast data retrieval and - processing, the costs for our products are considerably low compared to extensive field missions (GPS-measurements, inventories): A small team of experts can do the job. Our forestry consultants verify the situation in the field after the satellite data is processed. This crucial step enables FORM-SARVISION to deliver accurate and reliable products to our clients.

Transparency and independence
There is a growing international demand for transparent and independent monitoring by governments, investment funds, organisations dealing with Climate Change or Biofuels. Products and services
FORM-SARVISION is able to deliver a variety of products and services. We monitor forest concessions, timber plantations and (industrial) crop plantations such as coffee, oil palm, cocoa and rubber.
